This piano is unlike anything I have seen, its design is much like the CLP series and but doesn’t have any of the buttons, it has a function button but do not be fooled by its simplistic interface. If you attach an iphone or ipad to it then it turns it into a CVP, with hundreds of voices, styles and songs. The voices sound amazing and the styles work in a slightly different way as it follows your playing instead of following the chords you play at the bottom of the piano. It also has many songs to learn with a fantastic ‘follow the light’ guide feature which works very well. You can also edit all your settings on this piano in the utilty menu on your ipad which is brilliant! Overall this piano is something of dreams and is a prime example of why digital piano’s are becoming vastly popular and getting closer and closer to the feel and sound of a real acoustic piano

Yamaha Clavinova CSP Series
The reintroduction of CSP Clavinova has been long awaited and completes the trio of Yamaha Clavinova ranges.
CSP stands for Clavinova Smart Piano, and this is apparent in its design. Here is a Digital Piano with only two buttons! The two CSP models sit in-between the long-established CLP (Classic Piano) and CVP (Clavinova Versatile Piano) ranges. Whilst CLP Clavinova will still appeal to the purist piano players, and the CVP will continue be the choice of the player who wants the luxury of everything, CSP is ultimately the perfect piano for all the family.
So, what sets CSP apart from other Digital Pianos? It must be the combination of a fabulous design, dynamic sound system and a unique operating system. The instrument is controlled by Yamaha’s exclusive Smart Pianist app, which works on iOS and Android devices. This app takes away the need for a complicated control panel on the piano, as all the functions of the instrument are shown graphically and logically on a tablet or phone.
CSP will make pianists of all abilities smile. Advanced players will love the feel and response from the keyboard on both models. The CSP170 even has Yamaha’s renowned NWX action with white wooden keys. That means that you are playing on keys made from similar materials to those on an acoustic grand piano. Non-players will be entranced and amazed with the Stream Lights feature. These lights work in conjunction with the many songs already installed on the Smart Pianist app. CSP Clavinova will show the non-player which note to play and will then wait until you find the right one. This very clever feature creates a virtual sheet music score from the songs on your smart device, so you can play along with your favourite band or singer. For those of us who like to play “live”, you’ll love the automatic accompaniment feature. This offers you a comprehensive selection of musical genres that fit your favourite styles of music. Simply play a combination of three notes across the keyboard, and CSP will join in with a dynamic backing accompaniment. You’ll sound like a band or an orchestra, even though you’re playing alone.
Recording your playing is one of the many fun things you’ll do with the CSP Clavinova. Record your music with the Smart Pianist app and create audio files that you can save and listen to anytime on your smart device. With over 400 of Yamaha’s state-of-the-art sounds to choose from, you can sound like anything from a piano to an orchestra, and from classical music to the latest EDM pop and club hits.

Piano Samples
This digital piano uses sampling from two bespoke acoustic pianos for the most successfully crafted tone possible. The CFX is one of Yamaha’s most popular concert grand piano, whilst the Bosendorfer Imperial is widely regarded as one of the world’s finest acoustic instruments. By combining the characteristics of these instruments, Yamaha’s samples have the detail and authenticity of a true acoustic piano. The keys are sampled individually, before being tuned with each other so that your performances sound as natural as possible. Stream Lights
Yamaha understand that students are most inspired by learning their favourite songs, so have incorporated a song recognition function. By loading the song, the piano will distinguish the chord and melody patterns before displaying them on a score sheet for you. The on board stream lights guide your hands to the timing and positions for each note, for a flawless performance.
GH3X Keyboard
Both traditional and modern musicians will find the GH3X keyboard instantly familiar. The keys have a springless design for the most consistent feel possible. The lower register keys have more resistance that gradually becomes lighter for a similar feel to acoustic pianos. The triple sensor sound receptors register the subtle nuances in your playing and relay them accurately to show your individual style. The GH3X keyboard also uses an escapement mechanism that copies a grand piano’s ‘click’ at the lower third of each key. This allows you to become familiar with the exact response of each key, for a comfortable performance.
