YAMAHA CLAVINOVA CSP-170 Smart Clavinova with Wooden Keys Polished Black with stool
Virtually unused Yamaha CSP-170 in stunning polished ebony finish.
This is an exceptional example of Yamaha's flagship first-generation CSP Clavinova. It combines Yamaha's premium NWX Natural Wood keyboard with CFX and Bösendorfer grand piano sounds, powerful four-speaker amplification and the extensive Smart Pianist accompaniment and learning system.
Having received almost no use from new, this particular piano remains in superb near-new condition and represents an excellent opportunity to buy a considerably higher-specification instrument than the CSP-150 without moving into current-model CSP pricing.
An exceptional example of Yamaha's premium CSP-170 Clavinova, finished in beautiful polished ebony.
This piano has seen virtually no use and is in superb, near-new condition. It was purchased new for a private home but was barely played, and both the cabinet and keyboard have been exceptionally well preserved.
The CSP-170 combines a high-quality Clavinova piano action with Yamaha's Smart Pianist technology, making it equally suitable for serious piano playing, learning, accompaniment and entertainment.
Unlike the CSP-150, the CSP-170 features Yamaha's NWX Natural Wood X keyboard, with wooden white keys, escapement and synthetic ivory/ebony key surfaces. It gives a noticeably more substantial and realistic acoustic-piano feel.
The polished ebony cabinet also makes this a particularly attractive example and gives it the appearance of a traditional high-end upright piano.
Key features include:
- 88-note NWX Natural Wood X weighted keyboard
- Wooden white keys
- Escapement mechanism
- Synthetic ivory and ebony key surfaces
- Yamaha CFX concert grand piano sound
- Bösendorfer Imperial grand piano sound
- Yamaha Virtual Resonance Modelling
- 256-note polyphony
- 692 instrument voices
- 29 Drum/SFX kits
- 470 accompaniment styles
- 403 preset songs
- 16-track MIDI recording
- Stream Lights learning system
- Split and layered keyboard modes
- Microphone input with vocal harmony functions
- Twin headphone sockets
- MIDI In/Out/Thru
- USB connectivity
- AUX input and outputs

The CSP series is designed to work with Yamaha's excellent Smart Pianist app, allowing the piano to be controlled from a compatible tablet or smartphone. Voices, rhythms, songs, recording functions and piano settings can all be accessed through the app rather than through a conventional control panel.
One particularly clever feature is Audio to Score, which can analyse music stored on a compatible smart device and create a chord chart to play along with.
The CSP-170 has a substantially more powerful speaker system than the CSP-150, using four speakers powered by four 45W amplifier channels, producing an impressively full and room-filling sound.
