Yamaha GranTouch GT1 Hybrid Digital Grand Piano – High Gloss Black
A rare Japanese-made Yamaha GranTouch GT1 in beautiful high-gloss black finish, complete with matching piano stool.
The GranTouch was a very different instrument from a conventional digital piano. Rather than using a simulated weighted keyboard action, Yamaha fitted the GT1 with a real acoustic grand piano action and wooden keyboard, with optical sensors detecting the movement of the keys and hammers. The result is an unusually authentic playing experience, particularly for pianists accustomed to an acoustic grand.
This particular example presents exceptionally well for its age. The high-gloss black cabinet is much more striking than the satin black versions sometimes seen, and it has a substantial, elegant appearance without requiring the floor space of a conventional baby grand.

Yamaha's own technical documentation identifies the GT1 as a GranTouch model with a grand-piano action, wooden keyboard and 30MB piano sound system; the original owner's specification confirms the 88 wooden keys, optical sensing, CFIIIS sample, 120W amplification, six-speaker system, dimensions and 102kg weight.
The GranTouch is a specialist and increasingly uncommon Yamaha instrument. It would suit somebody wanting the mechanical feel of a genuine grand action with the practicality of a digital piano, without tuning requirements or the size and weight of an acoustic grand.
Matching stool included.
